I am a big fan of the list template workaround that Mads posts about, but I have discovered that while this trick does work for a WSS list template created on a portal… the UI isn’t so hot. The template takes with it the WSS UI, so the list when selected by a user on a portal, jumps to the WSS UI. What is up with that?
So fair warning to all… if a you need a WSS list on a portal site, just take the time to jam out a duplicate on the portal by hand.
